Meet our Music Instructors

We are fortunate to have Megan Abel, Scott Skulmoski, and Jack Blaue as part of our teaching faculty at FACES. Their experience, talent, and passion for music education make them an invaluable part of our program.


  • Guitar | Bass

    Scott is a guitarist and bassist currently residing in Blind Bay, BC. He has been playing guitar and bass for over 30 years. Scott is originally from Nipawin, Saskatchewan and was taught the basics of guitar by his father as a teenager. He began playing in various bands as both a guitarist and bassist in his early twenties and has been doing so ever since. Scott believes in music as a form of artistic expression and pure joy. He has never taken formal guitar lessons but has had many “teachers” along the way, including friends, relatives, books and albums. Some of his influences include: Chet Atkins, Ritchie Blackmore, Joe Perry (Guitar), John Paul Jones, Geezer Butler, and John Entwistle (Bass).

  • Guitar | Ukulele | Piano | Voice

    Megan Abel is a skilled guitarist, vocalist, and songwriter with a diploma in Contemporary Music and Technology from Selkirk College. She has performed across the province, released her own album, and continues to stay active in the local music scene through performance and education.

    Megan’s teaching approach blends creativity with structure, encouraging students to explore theory, rhythm, and technique in a relaxed and supportive environment. Her lessons are tailored to the individual, making music accessible and engaging for all ages and skill levels. We’re thrilled to have her on the FACES music faculty.


  • Guitar | Ukulele | Piano | Banjo | Mandolin | Bass

    Jack is a passionate musician and performer with over 20 years of experience playing music. He began playing guitar at 14 and has since expanded into bass, mandolin, banjo, keyboard, singing, and songwriting. Jack attended Selkirk College’s Music and Technology program from 2017–2018 where he focused on bass guitar, and has several years of experience performing and playing in bands.

    Jack especially enjoys helping beginners discover the joy of making music in a relaxed, encouraging environment. His lessons focus on building confidence, learning the fundamentals, and having fun while developing skills at each student’s own pace.
